A board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience is licensed to practice in Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia and Delaware. Angel is passionate about empowering women to navigate perimenopause, menopause, and healthy aging with confidence, knowledge, and compassionate care.
Angel's journey into healthcare began with service to her country. She enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she proudly served for more than ten years before pursuing a career in nursing. Her military experience instilled the values of integrity, leadership, and service that continue to guide her patient-centered approach today.
Angel earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of New Mexico School of Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from Bowie State University. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has dedicated much of her career to women's health and gynecologic care.
In her current federal role, Angel serves as the Lead for the Joint Incentive Fund (JIF), a collaborative initiative between the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She has played a key role in expanding access to gynecologic services for women veterans throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Her work reflects a deep commitment to ensuring women receive the specialized care they deserve at every stage of life.
As a menopause-focused clinician, Angel is committed to providing evidence-based, individualized care that helps women address symptoms, optimize wellness, and improve quality of life. She is currently pursuing certification through The Menopause Society (formerly NAMS) to further strengthen her expertise in menopause management.
Angel is an active member of the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians (MAAPC), The National Menopause Society (formerly NAMS) and the Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH). She believes every woman deserves equal access to high-quality healthcare, education, and opportunities to thrive.
Angel resides in Clinton, Maryland, with her spouse and 3 children and is honored to serve women through KindHER's mission of helping women feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout their health journey.
Autumn Spence, DNP, ANP, RN
Dr. Autumn Spence, DNP, ANP, RN is an Adult and Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and the co-founder of KindHER — a virtual practice dedicated to guiding women through perimenopause and menopause with evidence-based care and genuine compassion. With more than 18 years of experience spanning critical care, primary care, population health, and executive nursing leadership, Dr. Spence brings a rare combination of clinical depth and systems-level thinking to one of the most underserved chapters in women’s healthcare.
Dr. Spence earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with honors from Yale University, her Master of Science in Nursing from New York University, and holds licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Virginia with a compact RN license across 40+ states. Her career has taken her from the ICU at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell to the Veterans’ Health Administration, where she served as Deputy Chief of Women Veterans Programs — developing culturally intelligent care pathways and improving outcomes for some of the nation’s most vulnerable women.
At KindHER, Dr. Spence channels that expertise into a modern, patient-centered practice where women are truly heard. She believes the menopause transition deserves the same rigor, nuance, and care as any other stage of life — and that every woman deserves a provider who meets her where she is.

This achievement reflects both exceptional dedication and a deep commitment to excellence in patient care, clinical leadership, and lifelong learning.
With a blend of experience, empathy, and academic distinction, she continues to serve as a steadfast advocate for those in her care and a champion for the nursing profession.
Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to delivering highquality, efficient, and equitable care, with a particular focus on supporting minority and underserved communities.
